Priest Gleb Palkin, accused of sectarianism, asked his congregation to have their debts erased. The news agency drew attention to the cleric’s post on social networks ura.ru.

The abbot and founder of the monastery in the village of Maisky, Perm Region, appealed to parishioners for help on his VKontakte page. In his message, attention was drawn to the financial difficulties that arose in connection with the organization of “a trailer for those in need.” Palkin asked believers to pay off their debts by sending money to the phone number he gave.

“Beloved, blessed ones! We started making a roof for a charity caravan. The work continues, we are making sun loungers so that good people can spend the night. We will make shelves to distribute the items. Help is really needed, really. “I am completely indebted,” the clergyman said.

He has found himself in scandalous situations before, due to accusations of sectarianism by his colleagues. During the pandemic, Palkin held online services and accepted donations from parishioners online. Later, Abbot Bartholomew stated that the services performed by Palkin in his monastery had nothing to do with the Russian Orthodox Church. In 2022, Metropolitan Methodius of Perm and Solikamsk banned the priest from serving due to violation of church canons.

Earlier he wanted a priest from Kostroma hold a prayer ceremony due to lack of hot water.
