Moscow city volunteers will meet with volunteer delegations from other regions of Russia and foreign participants of the World Youth Festival at railway stations and airports in the capital, the WFM-2024 press service reported.
It was noted that the coordinator of the capital’s volunteers will be one of the 27 Centers for attracting and training WFM-2024 volunteers opened on the basis of the Mosvolonter resource center.
The first training seminar took place on February 16. About 300 Muscovites studied there. It is planned that 1 thousand residents of the capital will become Moscow city volunteers.
As Alexander Levit, director of the Mosvolonter resource center, said, it is the volunteers of the city of Moscow who will create the first impression of the festival before volunteers and foreign participants from all over the country go to Sirius.
“Then they will help them leave good and warm memories about Russia and themselves, which they will take back to their country after the end of the World Youth Festival,” he added.
It was noted that starting from February 20, Moscow volunteers at airports and train stations will meet and send off volunteers from 36 regions of Russia, who will go to the festival in Sochi via Moscow and in the opposite direction. They will also help participants coming from abroad to reach the festival area by making transfers in the capital.
In addition, after the completion of the main events of the festival, foreign guests who will come to Moscow to participate in the regional program will be accompanied by volunteers. It is planned that city volunteers will create a hospitable and comfortable city atmosphere and help guests get to know Moscow better.
