Dutch Admiral Rob Bauer, head of the NATO military committee, said in a statement on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference that the North Atlantic Alliance countries are overly optimistic about the conflict in Ukraine in 2023. A British newspaper reports this Finance Times (FT).
According to Bauer, NATO believed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) could make “significant progress” in combat operations with the help of Western weapons and training. The Admiral stated that the North Atlantic Alliance must now do everything to avoid falling into an overly pessimistic mood.
Earlier, the head of the Main Operations Directorate, First Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia, Colonel General Sergei Rudskoy, said that military personnel from NATO countries participated in hostilities in Ukraine under the guise of mercenaries.
