Scientists from the Siberian Federal Center for Agricultural Biotechnologies (SFSC RAS) of the Russian Academy of Sciences have developed a complex fertilizer based on bird droppings that allows you to restore the “health” of the soil. It allows you to destroy salmonella, E. coli and other microbes harmful to humans that enter the soil. socialbites.ca was told about this issue at the SFSC RAS.

A special feature of the manure was the use of previously wasted poultry manure as a base, combined with in-line sterilization technologies and the addition of probiotics.

Soil is contaminated with solid and liquid wastes, plant residues, domestic and industrial wastewater. Wastewater from slaughterhouses, meat processing plants, leather and wool processing plants, which may contain pathogenic bacteria, is particularly dangerous. In this regard, soil can serve as a factor in the transmission of pathogens of infectious diseases.

Under natural conditions, soil has the ability to self-clean and regulate. But under anthropogenic influence it is depleted and loses its ability to self-clean, so it is important to find ways to restore this function of the soil.

Experts from the Federal Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences managed to establish that special groups of pathogens contained in bird droppings destroy salmonella, E. coli and other microbes harmful to humans, having entered the soil. On its basis, fertilizers are created that meet the specified requirements and are used in agriculture. However, the effect of such fertilizers is very narrow and is directed only at one type of disease carrier.

Scientists were able to select a combination of beneficial pathogens from bird droppings to create an inexpensive, versatile fertilizer. Fertilizer can be used for different crops and different soil types with different combinations of pathogen groups. Currently, a batch of fertilizer created using innovative technology is being tested on one of the farms in Tatarstan.

Previously Novosibirsk scientists was created Mini brains for studying thinking.
