The Russian Emergencies Ministry in Moscow is actively increasing numbers and equipment to extinguish a fire that started on the roof of a residential building in the north of the city. This was reported by operational services TASS.

“Additional personnel and resources continue to arrive at the fire scene,” an agency spokesperson said.

According to him, most units of the Moscow fire and rescue garrison, including reserve personnel, are involved in firefighting.

The fire on Chernyakhovsky Street in a residential building started at night. While the fire initially covered an area of ​​300 square meters, the fire later spread to 4 thousand square meters. Approximately 400 people were evacuated and an elderly man who was unable to leave the building on his own was helped to safety at the fifth entrance. Two helicopters were brought to extinguish the fire.
