The majority of Russians (77%) are sure that there are stereotypes about re-education in our society that prevent them from taking this step in adulthood. This is shown by a study by analysts at the Higher Education direction Skillfactory (part of the educational holding Skillbox Holding Limited), the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.

For a third of the participants, the evaluation of others is of great importance (7 and 8 points). For them, the opinion of their loved ones and the public plays one of the most important roles when making decisions about changing specialties and career development. It is interesting that young people aged 25-29 think about this issue more often than others: 39% of them attach great importance to external opinions. And among representatives of the older generation (51-55 years old), only 27% care about what people think.

One in ten respondents (12%) admitted that public opinion is of great importance to them (9 and 10 points). For such participants, the evaluation of others plays an important role when deciding to change their specialty. They will be willing to give up on retraining if they do not receive sufficient support from others. This is especially evident among Russians aged 41-50 (17%).

“Almost half of those surveyed attach particular importance to the evaluation of others when changing careers. Additionally, one in five admitted that the support of their loved ones would make the process of changing their specialty easier. It is important to remember that understanding from loved ones can be a decisive factor in difficult decisions for the future,” commented Egor Sorokin, director of the department of business development and higher education programs at the Skillfactory IT vocational school.

However, for some Russians (18%), the importance of public opinion when changing professions is minimal (3 and 4 points), but they still take it into account when making decisions. For the other 15% of respondents, public opinion has no role (1 and 2 points); They rely solely on their feelings and experiences when wanting to try something new. It is interesting that among respondents aged 25-29, no one sees the role of public opinion as unimportant. However, among representatives aged 30-35, one in every five people has this opinion.

For one fifth of the respondents, the role of public opinion is of medium importance (6 and 5 points). They take into account the assessments of people who are important to them, but they still do not become the determining factor.

Previously the majority of Russians stated About the intention to change jobs in 2024.
