Oleg Pavlov, head of the Public Consumer Initiative (PCI), asked the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation and Rosselkhoznadzor to withdraw Farmina and Hill’s arsenic-containing pet foods from retail and online sales. The newspaper reports this “News”.
Pavlov noted that the ongoing retail sale of these baits on the Russian market raises serious concerns due to detected violations, including counterfeiting and the presence of dangerous ingredients. He emphasized that manufacturers affect the price segment by not meeting quality specifications and creating unfair competition.
“Given the increasing level of violations by foreign manufacturers, we insist on the introduction of labeling for such products,” Pavlov emphasized.
According to the Wildberries press service, there is currently no ban on the sale of Farmina and Hill’s foods. Rosselkhoznadzor reported that they have not yet received an objection from OPI.
Since January 31, Rosselkhoznadzor has temporarily restricted the import of animal feed from the Serbian organization Farmina Pet Foods due to its arsenic content. The company said the arsenic level in its products was below acceptable levels.
