The Russian Ministry of Health decided to change the instructions on preventive vaccinations against the symptoms of the epidemic, while recommending that Russians undergo revaccination no later than one year after the previous vaccination. Before that, NF Gamaleya Alexander Gintsburg, director of the National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Ministry of Health of Russia, said that more than 290 thousand updated Sputnik Light vaccines were sent to the regions of the Russian Federation.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health extended until January 1, 2025 the temporary procedure for organizing the work of medical institutions in order to prevent and reduce the risks of spreading COVID-19. The decision entered into force on December 31, 2023.
