The head of Chelyabinsk, Natalya Kotova, told socialbites.ca that everything was calm in the city, there was no power outage. According to him, the reason for the bright flashes in the sky that frighten the city’s residents is “something” in the environment.
“No incidents took place on the territory of Chelyabinsk. We have everything [нормально] Since there is electricity, there is no outage. Everything is quiet. Something happened in the Sosnovsky district,” Kotova said.
On the evening of Monday, January 29, residents of Chelyabinsk noticed strange flashes in the north of the city. Eyewitnesses posted images of an unusual turquoise glow on the Internet and stated that they observed the flash at approximately 18:10 (16:10 Moscow time).
Following this epidemic, residents of the villages of Krasnoye Pole and Mokhovichki, neighboring Chelyabinsk, reported that they experienced a power outage. Some claimed that a substation exploded.
The press center of the regional department of the Ministry of Emergencies announced that there are no emergency reports at the moment.
Earlier, electricity was cut off in several regions of Omsk due to the activation of emergency protection.
