According to journalists, the Internet must be turned off to ensure the normal operation of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles, thanks to which the security of the airspace is ensured. According to RBC’s source, it was necessary to strengthen protection during the visit of high-ranking officials to Russia.
Two other sources say the measures help protect areas from night attacks by Ukrainian drones.
They explained to the publication: “To provide guidance, the drones use the GPS signal, which the Russian authorities deliberately distorted, use their own security cameras during the day, and use ground-based cell towers at night.”
At the same time, 4G outages, according to the authorities of these regions, are associated with “the conduct of technical work on the restructuring of the radio frequency spectrum of transmitting equipment.”
