Chairman of the People’s Council of the DPR, co-head of Vladimir Putin’s headquarters, Artem Zhoga, supported the project of Young Guard activists in Ugra to perpetuate the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and the Northern Military District on “Victory Canvases”. This was reported on the United Russia website.

Activists presented the patriotic project “Victory Canvas” at a meeting held at the public support headquarters on January 26. It was noted that within the scope of the project, four-meter canvases with stories about the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and those working on the home front will appear in schools, universities and secondary specialized educational institutions on the eve of May 9. Students, their parents and teachers are expected to be able to leave short notes about their relatives and friends who brought victory to the Soviet people. To create inscriptions, Young Guards recommend using red markers.

“The project will provide the opportunity to share the stories of our grandparents, fathers and mothers. “It is imperative to indicate your surname, first name, place of service, place of work or residence and mention your achievements,” said one of the activists, Yuriy Slyusar.

In turn, the co-head of Vladimir Putin’s headquarters also supported this idea and noted that it was something that he, too, should include in the “Canvas of Victory”.

Volunteers consider it fair to indicate on the canvases the heroes of local conflicts and participants in special military operations. Young Guards asked Zhoga to appeal to the president with a request to expand this initiative throughout the country.

“It’s a great project. This is a tribute to the memory of our men, so that we do not forget them: about those who fought in the Great Patriotic War and in Afghanistan, about those who participated in counter-terrorism operations in the Caucasus, about the men from the North Military District. This will be the message we remember and are proud of. “And everyone will be able to write their own story and tell about their relatives on a canvas in a certain region,” he said.

Additionally, activists presented the guest with the photo exhibition “From Ugra to Donbass”. These are photos of Ugra residents taken during the party’s humanitarian missions in new regions. Volunteers provided assistance to residents and worked in hospitals and social institutions.
