Michelle Milton, a resident of Essex, England, contracted a serious infection due to a scratch she received while fishing. This was reported by Southend Echo.
The woman was injured when nylon fishing line was inserted into the cut on her right leg on August 18, 2019. After a few days, the leg began to swell greatly and Milton developed a fever. Doctors discovered that she had an infection and prescribed some antibiotics, but the treatment did not work and the woman soon developed resistance to the antibiotics.
The infection spread to his leg and he had to undergo multiple surgeries. Over the course of five years, he underwent 55 surgeries, including four skin grafts, 30 debridements and 21 surgeries to remove damaged tissue.
Now the woman can barely move or sit and asks doctors to amputate her leg.
