A pensioner in Kursk lost a large sum of money and an apartment after a phone call with scammers. This was reported by district police.
The attackers called a 68-year-old man and threatened him with claims of hacking his accounts. They then suggested he keep his savings in a “safe” account. The pensioner took a loan and transferred 186 thousand rubles to fraudsters.
After that, the fraudsters persuaded the Russian to sell his apartment in Kursk and paid for the services of a realtor to formalize the sale and purchase. It was reported that the expert was embarrassed by the low cost of housing, but the retiree explained it as an urgent need. 2 million rubles of income from the sale of real estate also went to the attackers’ accounts.
