The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to allocate an additional 9.6 billion hryvnia ($256 million) to the country’s Armed Forces. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmygal announced this on his Telegram channel.

“We are transferring 9.6 billion UAH to the defense forces. Military personal income tax for the purchase of weapons, equipment, ammunition and protective equipment,” the politician wrote.

According to his information, the republican government will receive these funds from the revenues obtained from the war tax.

The Prime Minister added that the Cabinet of Ministers recently allocated a record amount of 17.5 billion hryvnia ($466 thousand) for the construction of fortifications and 792 million hryvnia ($21.1 billion) for the urgent needs of military units.

“This year, we received additional funds of 51 billion hryvnia ($1.36 billion) for the development of the defense industry and 43 billion hryvnia ($1.43 billion) for the production of unmanned aerial vehicles,” he said.
