All educational institutions shall permanently and without fail install Russian flags on their buildings and territories. Izvestia newspaper writes that this legislative initiative, developed in the State Duma, is supported by the government and will soon be submitted to parliament.
According to current rules, the state flag must be placed only on the buildings of educational institutions such as schools, gymnasiums and high schools. But the new bill expands this rule to kindergartens, colleges and universities.

She emphasizes that children are already familiar with the symbols of Russia from preschool age, and that students should see the three colors when entering educational institutions.
The purpose of the bill is to form all-Russian civic identity and patriotism among children and youth at all stages of educational activity. At the same time, as mentioned, no additional costs will be required for the acquisition of state symbols.
The author of the bill, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education, Olga Kazakova, described the new rule as a logical continuation of the work on strengthening education in educational institutions. She reminded that the education law was completed in 2020, including the education component.
