The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Aibek Smadiyarov, invited the director of the TNT television channel, Tina Kandelaki, to the country after her remarks about the displacement of the Russian language in the republic. This was reported by RIA News.
He noted that the Kazakh side was disturbed by the fact that “neighbors and friends know so little about Kazakhstan.” Smadiyarov said that Kandelaki’s information was unreliable.
“Let them come to our country and see how we live. “It would be better if we continue our joint work instead of inventing some topics and getting into conflicts on social networks,” he said.
Smadiyarov noted that Kandelaki was not included in the list of foreign citizens who were refused entry to Kazakhstan due to negative statements about the republic. At the same time, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan emphasized that such lists are an internal matter of each state.
“If you don’t like someone, you won’t let him into your home. That’s why we won’t initiate it. Don’t ask us to include anyone on this list. The state will not allow it,” Smadiyarov added.
He could not answer the journalists’ question about whether Kazakhstan plans to include Kandelaki in this list, but expressed the opinion that the TV presenter himself is unlikely to come to Kazakhstan.
