This wasn’t his first film, but his previous film ‘Terrified’ (2017) put him on the map for fans of the genre for at least two reasons. First, the ability to create A. cinema of domestic (and also universal) terrorism Wisely adapting imported sources to its own environment, iconography and mythology. Another, perhaps most important, is the ability Encapsulate horror in well-designed scenesvery well executed and above all very unexpected.
Rugna knows how to manage expectations, Play with expectations and maintain tension. And it dares to embrace the disturbing, the frightening, and the perverse. Aterrados had two scenes to remember, and this one had at least a couple more. When Evil Stalks, about demonic possessions in a rural area of Argentina, has its own universe and capacity for impact, where fear convincingly runs rampant. However, the movie It’s a little more discordant on a narrative level. The concept, setting and atmosphere work. And its best scenes are disturbing. But the mechanics of the story don’t flow naturally, too much is revealed (and explained) verbally, and most hits are played on the same card.
