Insulin from the manufacturer Geropharm received the first Halal certification in Russia. This has been reported Company’s telegram channel.
The company received Halal certification from the International Center for Standardization and Certification, which is the only organization in Russia to receive authorization from the Head of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims in the Russian Federation and the Russian Council of Muftis.
This means that the insulin produced by the company complies with all the rules of Islam and only ingredients permitted by religious norms are used in production. Prohibited ingredients of medicines (and foods) include alcohol, products obtained from animals killed in violation of Islamic rules, and ingredients derived from pigs. The company’s drugs became the first insulin approved as halal in Russia.
“Despite the voluntary format of the certification procedure, Geropharm understands how important it is to increase compliance with treatment for patients who have converted to Islam,” the company said.
