Scammers use recordings of phone calls, including robocalls, to impersonate voices for fraudulent purposes. This was reported by RIA News citing NTI SafeNet analyst Igor Bederov.
According to the expert, attackers can also use videos and voice messages that are freely published on the Internet.
“Voice samples are taken from various sources. “This includes voice messages that can be collected from instant messaging programs, normal calls made during a conversation with a robot or another person,” Bederov explained, adding that in principle, even a single word of a person’s speech can be transcribed.
