The US and UK have carried out their second series of strikes overnight on part of Yemen controlled by the rebel Houthi Ansarullah movement. This was reported by a TV channel owned by the Houthis. Al Masirah.
Damar, Taiz, Hodeidah and Al-Bayda provinces were reported to have come under fire.
According to the TV channel, one of the attacks was carried out on a Houthi facility in the village of Al-Salif in Hodeidah province on the Red Sea coast.
Previously US officials approved the fact of the first attack on the targets of the rebel movement.
An American official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told reporters that the strikes targeted missile sites and launch systems that pose a direct threat to commercial and US navy ships in the region. The American emphasized that Washington was exercising its right of self-defense by doing this.
