Scammers found a new way to deceive Russians. It was reported that the attackers called citizens on behalf of their relatives and friends by imitating their voices using special software. RIA News In the press service of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation (CB).

“To force a person to provide necessary information or transfer money, attackers can communicate with a person on behalf of their acquaintances, relatives or colleagues by impersonating their voice using special programs,” the regulator said.

They noted that criminals actively use combined fraud schemes, mainly telephone. They are also increasingly creating address schemes based on a person’s digital portrait. Attackers can create it, for example, based on information published by the citizen himself on open Internet resources: about himself, his relatives, friends, as stated by the Central Bank.

The Central Bank advised people to be careful when sharing personal and financial information on social networks and other open sources. The regulator also recommended not to send information from documents in instant messengers and social networks, not to enter your data on dubious sites and not to make any monetary transactions at the request of persons received by phone.
