Researchers from Carleton University (Canada) have discovered that remote work can lead to “home fever.” Symptoms include irritability, anxiety and loneliness. The study was published on: magazine Environmental Science and Engineering book series (ESE).

The authors interviewed 14 workers who worked remotely from home. Scientists were able to identify positive and negative consequences of this way of working. Therefore, higher productivity and less commuting are associated with a better overall quality of life and a healthier diet.

However, in addition to all these advantages, some disadvantages have also been identified. So isolation, decreased social interaction and physical activity is one of them. Staying at home for long periods of time can cause a feeling of “house fever,” which includes symptoms of irritability, anxiety, and loneliness.

According to scientists, to avoid such problems in the long run, you should maintain social interactions and physical activity.
