Acadèmia CdM was born with the mission of providing young performers of early European music with the necessary tools to perfect this unique repertoire. This residential course encourages the experiencing and reinterpretation of early music with a historical focus, providing practical experiences to facilitate placement in the professional field.
In addition, it gives you the opportunity to gain practical experience with the Capella de Ministrers group in Valencia, known for its prestige and performance in the industry. Through theoretical-practical lessons and activities in symbolic venues and under the management of Carles Magraner, who has been managing for more than 35 years.
In its seventh edition, Academia CdM 2024 focuses its study program on the Palacio Musical Songbook. This early 16th-century treasure trove contains at least 450 compositions compiled at the court of the Catholic Monarchs in the 15th and early 16th centuries. Most are attributed to Juan del Encina (1468-1530), although they did not maintain official relations with the court. The dominant genres in Cancionero include hymns, romances and fantasies, popular songs dealing with various aspects of daily life, with a pronounced preference for love or lack of love. A compilation that witnesses an era with poetry and music, the most subtle means of communicating with future generations.
