Industrial LAB 5.0. This is the name of the new technology center of the Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs of the Province of Alicante (Fempa).It is a demonstration area where companies aim to incorporate the latest developments, called smart manufacturing, into their production processes.. These are the facilities that are the result of cooperation between the federation itself, the Institute of Metalworking, Furniture, Wood, Packaging and Related Technology (Aidimme) and the Valencian Institute for Business Competitiveness (Ivace) and were inaugurated this Friday by Generalitat president Carlos. Mazón emphasized the importance of the industry both in the state and in the Valencian Community as a whole.

The aim of Industrial LAB 5.0 as a demonstration pilot is to promote and expand the use of virtual and augmented reality technologies as well as digital enabling technologies in smart and additive manufacturing. All this for the purpose To provide industrial SMEs and micro SMEs in the province of Alicante with access to the latest developments in this fieldand we bring the advantages of digitalization, technological services, innovation and participation in R&D projects closer to all companies that want to increase their productivity and competitiveness through digital enabling technologies called industry 5.0.

The new space, located on Fempa’s own premises, is an interactive scenario where multiple actions take place. Thus, the interoperability between this center and another twin installed in Valencia and connected via a digital network is demonstrated on the path to the smart production paradigm, while at the same time Demonstrations are carried out by highly qualified robotic teams. In addition to the dynamization of sessions, showrooms and initiatives, It is planned to develop a number of educational actions in parallel. with the aim of increasing participants’ digital skills and maximizing the advantages of using the latest generation technology.

Jorge Ibáñez, president of Fempa, spoke at the opening ceremony. emphasized the importance of this technological center for the digitalization of companiesWhile personalizing the introduction of this project his predecessor Luis Rodríguez, the current president of the Port, was present at the event. Fernando Saludes and Vicente Rocatí, respectively president and director of Aidimme, also spoke and explained the features of the center, as well as the availability of the institute to help implement these technologies in interested companies.

Generalitat president Carlos Mazón also pointed out in his speech the importance of encouraging such projects, saying “without industry there is no future, no today, no economic activity”: “they are on the starting tray of innovation.”

At this point, Consell’s chairman says there are two ways to approach innovation policies. “One is where Management proposes and imposes, the other is what I advocate, which is management that serves, helps and pushes but allows innovation to grow out of necessity and business leadership,” he emphasized. Mazón finally seized the opportunity to defend the measures taken by the regional government regarding administrative simplification.
