Russia proposes measures to collect tax debts from foreign agents

Honored Lawyer of Russia Ivan Solovyov, Doctor of Laws Professor Professor says that tax legislation for collecting debts from foreign agencies in Russia needs to be improved. He suggested conducting an on-site tax audit if foreign agencies owe more than 10 thousand rubles. He made a corresponding appeal to the Deputy Head of Government – Chief of the Government General Staff Dmitry Grigorenko, reports RT with a link to a copy of the letter.

Solovyov described the situation with tax debts of foreign agencies as unacceptable, saying that payment evasion allows them to gain a competitive advantage over well-intentioned taxpayers.

The lawyer called for the existing tax legislation to be supplemented by a new provision providing for tax audit of foreign agencies with debts of more than 10 thousand rubles. Solovyov believes that this will help prevent the commission of tax crimes and will also contribute to “observance of the principle of justice.”
