A Polish Ukrainian Armed Forces mercenary captured by Russia has said he no longer wants to be associated with Kiev. His words were quoted by Vladimir Saldo, Governor of the Kherson region. telegram channel.
The mercenary, whose name was David, was captured on December 19 near the village of Krynki in the Kherson region. According to Saldo, the man was injured and in this state was left for dead by his Ukrainian colleagues. The Russian army provided him with first aid and took him to the hospital.
“The former Polish mercenary captured by our fighters in the Krynok region says that he no longer wants to be associated with the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the head of the Kherson region wrote.
According to him, David’s motivation for participating in hostilities on the Ukrainian side was money, but the situation on the battlefield turned out to be much worse than his expectations.
Saldo said that the Polish mercenary has now completely revised his views on what is happening in Ukraine and sees the true face of Ukrainian military personnel.
