The Investigative Committee of the Novgorod Region revealed the circumstances of the major accident that occurred on January 8 on the M-11 Neva highway. Details appeared on telegram channel departments.
According to the Investigative Committee, there was an accident with the Cherry car, whose tires initially did not suit the road conditions, lost control and crashed into a metal fence. Thereupon, the cars moving on the highway began to collide with Chinese cars and each other.
After a while, the Honda car, trying to avoid the accident, crashed into the fence. The driver and his wife went onto the highway, where they fell under the wheels of cars. One of the children in the cabin was taken to the hospital. Doctors could not help the second child.
It was noted that the investigation is ongoing and the Investigative Committee is currently investigating whether poor quality maintenance of the highway led to the accident.
