The LDPR delegation, led by Chairman Leonid Slutsky, included local residents, social activists and the slogan “We are sewing for our people!” He held meetings with representatives of the movement. In the city of Engels, the party’s press service reported.
It was noted that since the beginning of the SVO, the party has been taken under the wing of associations formed by women activists who sew clothes for the needs of the front. In the Saratov region, representatives of the regional branch of the LDPR constantly help the sewer with everything necessary: boxes of products, products for dry soup sets, materials for sewing and weaving networks, and also provide financial assistance.
“Ordinary girls with ordinary hands and thousands upon thousands of products stand out. This is true patriotism, self-sacrifice,” Slutsky emphasized.
As LDPR clarified, the Engel sewing battalion consists of 35 women activists. They sew underwear and thermal underwear for SVO participants, knit warm clothes, and also knit camouflage nets. The total number of members of the “Sew for Our People” movement in Engels exceeds 100.
Natalya Kamilova, one of the activists of the movement, told the party chairman that each of the social activists helped as much as they could, both financially and by making things necessary for the Northern Military District (for example, by making bunker candles). It is stated that Kamilova was personally awarded the medal “For Assistance in Special Military Operation” by the head of the LDPR in Moscow on August 18, 2023.
“We started helping SVO participants from July 2022. At first it was a few people, now there are more than 200 cities and villages across the country. Our main activity focuses on the weaving of camouflage nets, sewing and knitting of various products for the front line and hospitals,” he said.
