World Health Organization (WHO) President Tedros Ghebreyesus on his social network page X As the number of cases has been rising for weeks in many countries, people around the world have been urged to put on masks again and get vaccinated against the coronavirus.

“The number of respiratory diseases caused by coronavirus and flu has been increasing in many countries for several weeks. This is expected to continue after the recent holidays,” Tedros said.

He also recommended that everyone be tested for coronavirus infection and seek medical attention if they have symptoms.

“Continue to use masks, ventilation and distancing to reduce exposure. “Also make sure you and your loved ones are vaccinated against coronavirus and flu,” the WHO chief said.
