The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) claims that Russian hackers hacked several webcams in Kiev and gave Russian intelligence agencies access to control the viewing angle of these devices and broadcast them. This was reported by RIA News.
According to the service, webcams monitored the operation of the Ukrainian air defense system in the Ukrainian capital during the air strike on January 2. It is also claimed that optical devices broadcast the situation at critical infrastructure points of the city.
“SBU identified the addresses without delay and removed the webcams,” the document stated.
The ministry stated that cameras installed in residential complexes to monitor local areas were “hacked by Russian special services.” He also added that since the beginning of the special military operation, the SBU has blocked the operation of about 10 thousand cameras that could have been used to correct attacks.
Previously, the Russian army carried out 30 group attacks on the infrastructure of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in a week.
