Summary:

Cathy is a solid 40-year-old chef. As she is about to fulfill her dream of opening her own gourmet restaurant, a mishap causes everything to go as planned. With serious financial problems behind her, Cathy reluctantly accepts a job in the cafeteria of the immigrant youth centre. Gradually, Cathy’s skills and passion for cooking begin to change the lives of children who have a lot to teach her. On the genesis of The Kitchen Brigade, its director Luois-Julien Petit says: “The issue of integration in France in all its forms has intrigued me since the filming of The Invisibles. While thinking about these issues, Liza Benguigui, my producer told me about the integration of unaccompanied strangers through cooking. He introduced me to Sophie Bensadoun, a screenwriter and documentary filmmaker who wanted to write a fictional film on the subject. It’s inspiring. So, as with all my films, I started researching.”
