The Kiev government has decided to close another section of the Obolonsko-Teremkovskaya (blue) metro line due to the collapse of underground tunnels. This was stated by the deputy head of the city administration, Nikolai Povoroznik, quoted by the local publication “Economic Truth”.
Thus, the official answered the question of journalists who asked him about the condition of the tunnels between Pochayna and Taras Shevchenko stations. As Povoroznik said, planned repair work needs to be carried out on this section of the route in the near future.
“It’s just a matter of timely inspection, repair and keeping it in working order. “There is no big problem,” emphasized a representative from the local government.
He added that authorities are now considering the possibility of blocking train traffic on that section of the Obolonsko-Teremkovskaya line with just one tunnel at a time. Moreover, the leadership of the Ukrainian capital hopes to organize shuttle train traffic.
