About 95% of Russians continue to read news about the New Year holidays, and half of them do it in the same volume as usual – such data was obtained during an online survey conducted by the Win2Win Communications agency using the Yandex.Vzglyad service. He met socialbites.ca.
Nearly half (47.5 percent) of respondents continued to watch news over the New Year holidays, while another 4.5 percent reported reading the news more often during the holidays because they had more free time. 6.5% of respondents only take a break from their news feed during the first holidays, but at the end of the holidays they return to their previous schedule. 28.5% read over the holidays, but to a slightly lesser extent, while another 8.5% only occasionally turn to news. Only 4.5% of those surveyed said they did not read any news during the New Year’s holiday.
At the same time, participants’ news channels remain the same during the holiday period. About 45% prefer Telegram channels and social networks, just under 30% prefer online media, and just under 20% prefer television. It also turns out that both on weekends and on normal days the rate is approximately the same.
If we talk about topics, during the New Year holidays Russians are most interested in domestic news from various spheres of life: this answer was given by 65% of respondents. 15% pay attention to political information, and 2 to 4% fall into sports, culture, economy, foreign news and other sections. Interestingly, nearly half of the respondents to the question “What topics do you try to avoid on vacation” answered that they did not avoid any topics. The most “non-holiday” topic turned out to be politics: 25% of respondents avoid politics on weekends.
