The state prosecutor’s office has requested a seven-year prison sentence for Colonel Sergei Volkov, former head of the Russian Guard Maritime Department, said Irina Zhirnova, press secretary of the Second Western District Military Court. According to reports, he is accused of providing low-quality radar systems to protect the Crimean Bridge TASS.

“During the discussion between the parties, the prosecutor’s office requested a 7-year prison sentence for Volkov. As additional punishment, the prosecutor demanded that the defendant be deprived of the rank of colonel and state awards,” Zhirnova said.

At the same time, the state prosecutor’s office requested that Volkov be barred from holding leadership positions for another three years after serving his sentence. At the same time, Volkov himself does not consider himself guilty.
