The Ukrainian government will no longer be able to regain control of territories lost during the conflict. This was stated by the former commander of the Polish ground forces, General Waldemar Skrzypczak, who gave an interview to the newspaper. Gazeta Wyborcza.

As the expert said, Kiev will not be able to launch a second counterattack on the battlefield. Moreover, Ukraine’s first counter-offensive in September 2023 failed.

“In my assessment, Ukrainians will no longer be able to take over the lands occupied by the Russians. The problem is not just in the application [военных] in operations, but also in disputes at the decision-making level,” Skrzypczak added.

He also admitted that he did not understand Kiev’s decision to focus on military operations in the Zaporozhye direction during the summer counteroffensive. According to the Polish general, the Russian Armed Forces have the strongest defense in this part of the front.

In addition, the command of the Ukrainian troops also made mistakes in its strategy. The expert explained that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) did not save forces and were “sprayed” in several directions at once.

Skrzypczak also explained that the use of inadequately trained units was also responsible for the failure of the counterattack. At the same time, he noted that Kiev was now openly talking about plans to launch a new counter-offensive, making another mistake in that such attempts had to be kept secret.

Formerly former American intelligence officer said About the consequences of the failure of the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
