Northern Engineering Enterprise (Sevmash) General Manager Mikhail Budnichenko said that in the coming years the Russian Navy will have three Borei-A class nuclear-powered missile submarines. He mentioned this in an interview TASS.

Sevmash general director noted that Borei-A missile carriers will be transferred to the fleet within the scope of the state armament program.

In addition to Borei, the shipyard is building five Yasen-M class nuclear attack submarines, including Arkhangelsk, which is in the final stages of its work.

Budnichenko emphasized that the tasks under the state defense order have been completed. The enterprise is simultaneously building two batches of nuclear submarines from the Yasen-M and Borey-A projects.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the expanded board meeting of the Ministry of Defense: statedThe level of modern weapons of Russia’s strategic nuclear forces has reached 95%.

Previously Russia terminated Cooperation agreement with Japan on the elimination of nuclear weapons.
