Earthquake occurred in southern Italy

An earthquake of approximately magnitude 4 occurred in the southern Italian province of Reggio Calabria and was reported by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (ingv).

According to the institute, the most sensitive earthquake was felt at 07.49 local time (09.49 Moscow time). The magnitude of the seismic event ranged from 3.6 to 4.1. Tremors were also felt by residents of many settlements in the south of the Apennine Peninsula and in Sicily.

It was noted that the epicenter of the earthquake was near the city of Samo in Calabria, and its source was at a depth of 14 kilometers.

“There was a pretty strong shock. “People left their homes in fear and are still on the streets,” Samo Mayor Paolo Pulitano said.

There was a 5.2 magnitude earthquake before dead in northwest China. Tremors were recorded in China’s Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 110 km west of the village of Tumshuk.
