Belarusian Security Council State Secretary Lieutenant General Alexander Volfovich said that in the last two years, the number of NATO military exercises has increased more than three times, while the number of participants has increased more than five times. Volfovich talked about this in an interview with a Russian magazine “National Defense”.
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the number of advanced NATO troops deployed on a rotating basis in Eastern Europe exceeds 32 thousand people; 20 thousand of them are located in Poland and the Baltic countries. At the same time, the scale of the bloc’s exercises is constantly increasing. In the last two years, the number of annual military exercises of the North Atlantic Alliance has increased more than three times (from 20 to 75), while the number of participants has increased more than five times (from 34 thousand to 180 thousand people).
Volfovich emphasized that the current situation in Eastern Europe can be called the largest military-political crisis since the Second World War. In this crisis, Ukraine has become a bargaining chip for the exorbitant ambitions of Washington and its allies.
