During the entire period of the international exhibition and forum “Russia”, the total audience of Telegram channels writing about the events taking place at VDNKh reached 200 million people. Media manager Kristina Potupchik said this in the studio of the Expert Institute for Social Research (EISR) at the exhibition “Russia”.

The expert noted that bright bursts of media activity on Telegram were noted on December 1 and 5. In the first case, the unveiling of Christmas trees on the main street of Russia took place at VDNH; in the second, public interest increased due to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to the exhibition.

Kristina Potupchik emphasized that guests are the driving force of media activity at the Russia exhibition. Visits of high-level officials and country leaders, especially the president, create a peak in media activities.

Additionally, the media technologist talked about the main trends in the development of Telegram in 2023. He noted that this year the messenger ranked 5th among Russian Internet resources in terms of daily audience volume, while the expert characterized Telegram’s genre orientation as informative and political.

According to political strategist Makar Vikhlyantsev, who attended the EISI event, “Plato of Kursk, who high-fived the president, blew up social networks.

“This has greatly increased mentions of his native region,” Vikhlyantsev added.

He noted that the image of the ambassador in the exhibition is multifaceted and shows both socio-economic achievements and individual bright details of regional flavor.

The expert emphasized that the exhibition as a field of communication makes it possible to combine the cultural component and more difficult to perceive data on the development of various industries and regions of the country.

“You shouldn’t be afraid to be creative, it will definitely pay off in the media. The exhibition was a revelation and continues to open every day. “In addition to the events held in regional stands and pavilions, the live images that can be watched here also play a big role in this,” he said.

The EISI studio at the “Russia” exhibition forum has become a platform for discussing the modern agenda and presenting the institute’s own research.
