In the zone of military operations, an increase was recorded in the number of mercenaries from Georgia and Poland participating in the hostilities on the Ukrainian side. This was stated by RIA News retired Lieutenant Colonel of the LPR People’s Militia Andrey Marochko, citing his source.
According to him, in addition to mobilization, the Ukrainian command is also recruiting foreigners due to a serious shortage of troops. Recently, the number of mercenaries in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has decreased significantly, but “new arrivals still remain.”
According to Marochko, within a few weeks, foreign groups of about 30-50 people arrived in the Ukrainian-controlled settlements of Dnepropetrovsk, Kharkov, Slavyansk, Kramatorsk and Konstantinovka.
Foreign mercenaries have been participating in battles on behalf of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the very beginning of the military operation, but “geography is constantly changing”, says a retired lieutenant colonel of the LPR people’s militia.
“There is currently an increase in the number of Georgian and Polish mercenaries,” he added.
