The majority of Russians (55%) who took a ski holiday said that they spent 100-300 thousand rubles per person on a ski holiday. Another 41% of Russians try not to spend more than 50 thousand rubles: these respondents book their resorts in advance and save as much as possible. This is shown by a BestDoctor study, the results of which were reviewed by socialbites.ca.
Only 4% of Russians can spend more than 300 thousand rubles on a ski holiday. They stated that they are ready to overpay for comfortable and developed infrastructure.
“Russians also admitted that they are concerned about the risk of injury while skiing and are ready to purchase private insurance. Thus, one in every two participants has insurance against injuries on the slope (51%). “Russians are also concerned about the safety of their ski equipment: more than half (51%) want to purchase insurance against equipment failure/loss if possible,” commented Mikhail Belyandinov, co-founder of the BestDoctor group of companies.
Residents of the country also shared how they evaluated the infrastructure and comfort of Russian ski resorts. Therefore, almost half of Russians (43%) speak positively, but emphasize that there is still work to be done. Another third of Russians (34%) are completely satisfied with the infrastructure of ski resorts in Russia. However, there are also those who speak negatively; 11% of respondents. 12% of survey respondents think it is difficult to answer.
In general, infrastructure is an important criterion when choosing a ski resort for more than a third of the participants (40%). Other factors include distance and convenient transportation accessibility (for 31% of respondents), good elevation changes (for 14% of respondents), and affordable airfares (for 14% of respondents).
Among the resorts preferred by citizens for active recreation in 2024 are: Rosa Khutor and Krasnaya Polyana (33%), Dombay (17%), Elbrus and Cheget (19%). Other popular destinations include Sheregesh (14%), Arkhyz (14%), Moscow region (8%).
