The head of the Hydromedical Center, Roman Vilfand, said that a thaw in Moscow is expected to arrive by Sunday evening and last for several days. This was reported by RIA News.

“A hurricane has formed over the Norwegian Sea, which will cause the ice to melt on Sunday evening. “In the afternoon the temperature will rise to plus 2 or even plus 3 degrees,” he said.

Previously reportedIt was stated that Moscow will be completely abandoned in the coming days due to Hurricane Vanya, which arrived this week and brought heavy snowfall to the capital. After that, a thaw will come to the city, the air will warm up to temperatures above zero. This afternoon the center of the hurricane will pass just south of Moscow. Shuvalov noted that thus, the heavy snowfall area left both the capital and the region. According to him, about a fifth of the monthly precipitation fell due to the hurricane in Moscow. The forecaster promised that despite the warming, the falling snow will not melt completely.

The weather will still be cold in the capital on Saturday, the temperature will be around 10-15 degrees at night and up to 8 degrees below zero during the day. However, according to forecasts, the thermometer will rise to 0…+2 degrees on Sunday.
