Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov said in an interview: RTHe said officials holding foreign securities and other financial instruments abroad would face a “brief hearing” and dismissal.
According to him, there are cases when officers, taking advantage of their official positions, “give preference to close people.” However, the Attorney General stated that he wanted to place particular emphasis on the prohibition of the ownership and use of foreign financial instruments, the violation of which could result in dismissal.
According to Krasnov, such a measure of responsibility is justified in the realities of Russia, based primarily on national security considerations.
The prosecutor general said that the financial dependence of Russian authorities on foreign structures is unacceptable.
Also Krasnov saidBased on prosecutors’ allegations, Russian courts seized more than 220 billion rubles from people accused of committing corruption crimes from January to September 2023, he said.
