Billionaire Branson refuses to support space flights

Billionaire Richard Branson said he has stopped investing in Virgin Galactic, a company that develops private spacecraft. The newspaper reports this Finance Times.

“After COVID-19 we are out of cash and Virgin Galactic has $1 billion. So he must have enough money to handle this task on his own,” Branson said.

He added that he wants to work on a company that can demonstrate the feasibility of currently used technologies.

Virgin Galactic in September 2023 announced about the beginning of a new suborbital flight.

In June, it was reported that Virgin Galactic successfully completed the first commercial manned suborbital flight with three Italian citizens. VSS Unity took off from the American spaceport in New Mexico on the VMS Eve aircraft. The device lost connection with the aircraft at an altitude of 15 km, then rose another 80 km.
