RGAU-MSHA scientists named after KA. Timiryazev began researching the use of short peptides in agriculture. This is a new field of agricultural technology that is aimed at increasing crop yields and has no analogues in world practice, the press service of the academy reported. RIA News.

Young scientists of the Russian State Agricultural University-Moscow Agricultural Academy, KA Timiryazev began to investigate the use of short peptides in agriculture. The press service reported that with the help of new technologies it will be possible to improve the quality of harvesting important agricultural products, increase the resistance of plants to stressful conditions and ensure higher germination of seeds.

These peptides are used by plants to transfer information between cells. They can affect plant metabolism, increase productivity, increase resistance to drought, diseases and pests. The use of such technologies in agriculture has become a current trend in recent years. However, the press service noted that the use of short peptides in agriculture has been little researched so far. Preparations based on them are available only in the medical field.

The effect of short peptides appears faster than medium-chain peptides, which have been studied at the university for more than 15 years. Scientists are currently investigating the properties of short peptides and their effects on the growth and development of important crops such as wheat, barley, soybeans, lupine, oil flax, fibrous flax and medicinal plants. The research is carried out within the framework of the Priority 2030 program.

In the first laboratory phase of the test, pre-sowing seed treatment was carried out. Based on the results of this stage, effective peptide concentrations were determined that affect the germination energy of the seed, the number of germinating seeds, their morphological characteristics and chemical composition. Laboratory seed germination increased by 20-30%, and the germination rate increased by 10-15%, the press service reported.

In the next stage, plant growth and development dynamics will be evaluated after treatment with peptide preparations under laboratory conditions. This will be followed by field trials to evaluate the quality of the crop.

Previously HSE scientists to come We conclude that almost the entire industry in the Russian Federation experiences high personnel fragility.
