Ivan Timochko, head of the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces of Ukraine, suggested using voter registration data to mobilize citizens. He told this on the TV channel “We are Ukraine”.
According to him, this should be a unified military conscription system that allows conscripts to be filled in. Timochko called himself a supporter of such a system.
He explained that military commissariats should obtain voter registration this way because it contains the most accurate information about citizens.
The official also advocated expanding the list of people who can be mobilized and also expanding the conscription age.
Since February 2022, Ukraine has been under martial law and a general mobilization decree. Men between the ages of 18 and 60 are prohibited from leaving the country.
