Hamas’s militant wing, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, announced that it had instructed its units to be on alert on the grounds that the group and Israel may not extend the ceasefire. This was reported on the movement’s Telegram channel.

“Al Qassam Brigades ask their active forces to maintain a high level of combat readiness in the final hours of the ceasefire, in anticipation of the resumption of hostilities if the ceasefire is not renewed…” the statement said.

The extended ceasefire was supposed to end at seven o’clock on the morning of 30 November.

On November 22, Israel and Hamas reached an agreement on a humanitarian pause and the release of some hostages. The first phase of the agreement included a four-day ceasefire and the exchange of 50 prisoners held in Gaza for 150 Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli prisons.

From 27 November, the pause was extended for another two days to ensure conditions for the release of the hostages. Israeli authorities had previously added the names of 50 Palestinian female prisoners to the release list.

30 November International Committee of the Red Cross reported It was stated that a group of hostages consisting of 10 Israelis and 4 Thais were released in the Gaza Strip.

Previously Hamas launched first hostages.
