St. Petersburg joint-stock company (JSC) Kotlin-Novator has developed a new unmanned aerial vehicle “Veter” for reconnaissance purposes and started mass production. He said this in an interview TASS Vladislav Udaltsov, head of the company’s unmanned aerial vehicle laboratory.

According to him, in the future, it is planned to optimize and modernize the drone. JSC plans to produce approximately 100 sets per month in 2024; The increase in production volumes will depend on orders and the expansion of production.

Wind UAV was developed as an alternative to Chinese drones. Udaltsov noted that during the year of work on this project, many problems with unmanned aerial vehicles in Russia, in particular a shortage of electronic components, unprotected radio control channels, a sharp increase in prices for consumables, etc. He said it was discovered.

“Veter” UAV is a small, short-range quadcopter-type drone weighing 1.8 kg and capable of carrying a payload of up to 1 kilogram.
