The majority of Russians believe that the responsibility for protecting children from misinformation should fall first on the family, second on teachers and schools, and third on the federal government. These results of a survey conducted by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM) were announced by the General Director of the VTsIOM Foundation Konstantin Abramov at a press conference on “School education in the age of counterfeiting”. ” Held in the multimedia center “Russia Today”.

According to Konstantin Abramov, 37 percent of those surveyed asked “Have your children or grandchildren encountered misinformation in the last year or two?” He answered the question positively. At the same time, children most often encountered fake content in Internet services (22%), social networks and instant messengers (19%).

“In general, this is a special operation that takes place all over the world, and it always happens in the interests of some people against others. “In this case, a special military information operation against children is also being carried out on the Internet, and this operation has been going on for quite a long time and no longer stands out, especially in the background of other world events,” he emphasized.

Abramov also noted that the study underlines the high degree of trust in official sources of information on school education. In particular, more than half of the participants (52%) trust teachers and school administrations, while 43% trust official information sources such as the Ministry of National Education’s website and accounts on social networks.

Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Anastasia Zyryanova, who was present at the press conference, called the increased trust among Russians in official information sources “a big step forward”.

He emphasized that false information is often spread on the internet and presented as fact.

“Thanks to the well-coordinated work carried out in our education system, ministry, regional ministries of education and schools, thanks to constant communication with teachers and parents through all popular means of communication available today, Zyryanova aims to create a trustworthy attitude towards official websites and public pages and to create a trustworthy audience “He managed to convince me that this was where the information was located,” he said.
