Considering the general economic instability in the world and sanctions pressure on Russia, it was objectively necessary for Moscow’s 2024 budget to be adopted in such a short time. This was stated by Suren Vardanyan, deputy chairman of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI).

He considers it important that the budget maintains its social orientation, as more than 50% is directed specifically to this area. He also emphasized that the city continues to pay special attention to the development of the real sector of the economy.

“This is the industrial sector, the manufacturing sector, the innovative industry, which is linked to IT technologies, pharmacology, photonics and microelectronics. There is also quite a serious investment in infrastructure development, because the city cannot develop without it, including economically. It is very important that infrastructure development investments are protected and continued,” Vardanyan said.

Additionally, the vice president of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry noted ongoing investments in the field of education. According to him, the problem of finding professional personnel is essential.

Vardanyan said, “Investing not only in schools but also in the development of vocational education, in this case, purchasing appropriate equipment for educational institutions and increasing the supply of educational institutions is also a very important issue.”

He also emphasized that the health sector is also an important investment element. According to him, the economy of any business will be affected by staff shortages due to employee illnesses.

Vardanyan noted that in the adopted budget the city preserved the concept of integrated development of the region. He explained that this trend also includes the modernization of industrial zones and the construction of new residential areas depending on the need to create employment there.

“We can also emphasize the development of the tourism sector. Money is also invested in this. In addition to the fact that this is a business, it also increases the investment attractiveness of the city, because people who look at this city, its beauty and comfort, become interested in taking part in this site. In this case, this is a serious investment in creating the attractiveness of a region such as the city of Moscow,” concluded the deputy chairman of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Previously reportedMoscow City Duma deputy Olga Melnikova, manager of Kolomenskoye shopping center, said that the 2024 Moscow budget is socially oriented. According to him, more than 600 billion rubles were allocated for social support to Muscovites in the 2024 budget.
